The Kidz Karate program has been designed for children (boys and girls) in early development. It is a proven success and kids love it! The whole activity is fun and the therapeutic benefits for all kids, especially those with special needs, is phenomenal.

The combination of karate with specific games and activities, offer a medium where kids’ physical, mental and emotional development is ensured. Furthermore, Kidz Karate incorporates a scoring system which can be used by therapists, teachers and parents to identify areas where a child may need attention.

Classes are taught at the child’s pre- primary school once a week for a half hour, with the focus on imparting the basic principles of karate, which lay a solid foundation for further practice of the art as well as improve a child’s capacity to concentrate and memorize. A recorded improvement in children’s schoolwork and emotional IQ has also been noticed, with karate kids enjoying healthier relationships with peers and siblings.

Kidz Karate favors the idea of allowing children to reach their own potential in the development of an art form that will enrich character, build confidence and a balanced life. Strengthening of self-confidence through Karate empowers the individual by eliminating the need to react through violence. What better way than in a fun and exciting environment where group activities and games teach anticipation and spatial skill, as well as improving speed and motor planning functions?

The classes of 8 – 15 students are run once a week on the school premises for a half hour, during school hours Fees are R390 per term (4 terms per year) or R1400 per annum There are no joining, registration, grading fees or hidden costs Boys and Girls from 3 years are encouraged to join. Students are graded twice a year in accordance with the Kidz Karate grading standard

The Kidz Karate program is half of the success, the instructors complete the experience. They are well trained and passionate about teaching and working with children. This, as well as a complete understanding of the Kidz Karate program, is fundamental to the success of the karate activity.

Also, all teachers have clearance certificates from the SAPS and are qualified EFR (emergency first response) and first aid trained.
